Great Things Chicago (On-Line) Magazine.

     The premier edition of our completely updated on-line magazine is here, we continue to take a look at things to do in and around Chicago area on a budget (in upcoming events).  Just because the economy is down right now doesn't mean we cannot still have fun with family, friends or by ourselves.  
     We continue to increased our GTC link database (listed alphabetically), so please continue to check it out.   We cover subjects like, Chicago Travel, Shopping, Destinations, Attractions, Dining, Hotels, Luxury, Concierge Services, Parks, Recreation and more.  Not only are we interested in recreation, but Employment Agency Links as well. 
     We continue to work hard becoming Chicago's "Greatest" On-line Resource for information about the Chicago area and all it offers.  If you have suggestions or recommendations for Dining, Travel, Entertainment, Transportation, Websites etc., please (contact GTC), subject line: "Website Recommendation for A-Z Listings".

Looking for Contributors:

     Have you always wanted to be published?  Have you always had interesting input on a variety of subjects?  Looking for Photojournalism, Journalism or just want to add your two cents worth....  Send us a line....Are you one who has an opinion about anything and everything?  Maybe we can help provide you the opportunity you have always dreamed about?  "Great Things Chicago", is accepting contribution articles for possible publication about things to do in (and around) the Chicago area.  We are looking for content specific Contributors like outdoor activities, gardening ideas, BBQ and picnic ideas and more.  If you would like to have your "Article or recommendations" considered for publication in an upcoming issue of GTC, (Contact GTC) subject line: "Article for Consideration".  Ensure that it is an original work "by you" and submit with your permission to publish on our site.  (see details), for more information.  If we like it, we may publish it.

New Readers Rides Featured Monthly.

Reader's Rides:

     GTC is pleased to announce the continuation of our "Readers Rides" section.  Submit your pictures in the following formats (.JPG & .GIF), along with a brief description and history of your ride (car, truck, motorcycle etc).  If accepted for publication, GTC will publish your ride for others to enjoy (please ensure that your pictures are crisp and clear).  Send them to GTC & (click here), subject line: "Readers Rides".  Also let us know of any local events that we may add to our calender of events, Car Club Cruise Nights, Car Meets, club Web Sites etc.  We have started adding some links to some of Chicago's greatest car clubs in the readers rides section, so check them out.

Great Reviews, Great Pictures and Great Things Chicago.

Calling all Unique Places:

     GTC is looking for unique locations, destinations, resteraunts and more to explore, discuss and make others aware of.  The nice thing about exploring these unique locations is primarily about allowing others to explore locations they would be otherwise unaware of.  Knowing what is availible to do before you set out for the day can save, time, money and a lot of headaches.  If you have some recommendations, please let us know (contact us) with subjectline "Unique place in Chicago".  We will check it out and may include a review of it in a upcoming issue.

     Picture of the week is open for submission consideration each and every week.  If you have a picture which you would like to have considered for publication, please read the (submission guidelines) and submit by Friday 12:00 P.M. for the following weeks edition.  Any pictures which are received after that suspense will be considered with the following weeks entries.  Thank you and good luck.  WINNERS FOR EACH MONTHS SUBMISSION WILL RECEIVE A GREAT THINGS CHICAGO T-SHIRT!  WHICH YOU CAN SPORT WITH PRIDE, WINNER WILL BE ASKED FOR APPROPRIATE SIZE FOR T-SHIRT AND WILL BE MAILED OUT ASAP!

Submission Guidelines for Photo of the Week:

     Submission guidelines:  (Only One submission per person, per week will be considered (Four in any given month)Only One picture each month will be considered for T-shirt prize however (usually your best submission).  Must be at least 18 years old to enter, Must be original work (by submitting person), be in JPEG, TIFF, PSD digital formats (no film), along with your (Name, date of photo and brief description of photo).  The photo cannot contain any objectionable material such as, but not limited to (nudity, adult situations, tobacco, alcohol, copyrighted material, illegal acts, etc...)  Any submissions will be further evaluated by "Great Things Chicago"  staff (and may be denied publishing if it does not portray an overall positive feeling of our publication, based on GTC staff opinion).  In cases of questionable material, contact GTC staff for further guidance on possible submission and consideration (Great Things Chicago, subjectline photo of the week submission) along with your questions.  Further, by submitting your images, you are releasing your picture for use by Great Things Chicago (for editorial usage in website publication as they see fit, throughout year and additional editions when deemed appropriate).  You further release Great Things Chicago and Staff from any responsibility from usage of your submitted images and agree to be named as the winner and recipient of prize (T-shirt) each month you win.
